It’s summertime and being kids at heart, we are craving for some exciting adventure.
Lihpao Land 麗寶樂園 (originally Yamay Recreation World) is a 25-hectare land and water adventure park that caters fun and enjoyment to all ages. The park that is located in Houli Township, Taichung County offers everything- facilities for both kids and adults, thrilling and death-defying rides, exciting water rides, and a five-star hotel accommodation.
Below are the prices for the entrance fees in Lihpao Land.
There are automated machines available at the entrance for tickets but for foreigners, it is more convenient to buy tickets at the ticketing counter as they use Mandarin everywhere including the ticketing machine of course. Since we already traveled this far, we bought the ticket that could let us access both parks so we could enjoy the our holiday fully. Unfortunately, we didn’t know when will their special prices apply but all of these prices were offered to us when we got there.
First, we went to the Discovery Land and tried their daring rides. Since we arrived at the park before business hours, there were no long queues waiting for us but, there were some rides that were still closed and we had no choice but to wait in the afternoon due to maintenance check-up. Unfortunately, we haven’t tried the Gravity Max ((to which the park is famous for) since it is under maintenance in the morning and when we came back in the afternoon, there were already a lot of people lining up and we ran out of time to catch the last bus going to Taipei. It is the world’s only off-track roller coaster that is why it is so popular with the tourists.
The Discovery Land also has some wonderful spots where you can take good photos for relaxation. It will take you to another world of fantasy with its amazing designs that will play with your imagination and make you feel like a kid again.
On the other side is the Malay Bay or its water park. It is composed of a wide variety of water slides and pools both for adult and kids. Here, they are very strict with the swimming attire. Aside from the swimming attire, you also need to have a swimming cap for you to enjoy all the water rides. But if you don’t have any, you have the option to buy or rent at the stalls which are all available near the gate of Malay Bay.
The wave pool is the most famous spot of the park. They have a specific time of the day where they open up the waves and expect that the pool will be jam-packed with people. You are not allowed in the deep areas if you don’t have a life jacket though. Life guards are always on alert every time people gather for the waves.
The park also offers lockers for rent where you can leave all your valuable things while enjoying their amenities. Overall, the park is really worth a visit even though for those who are on budget, it might be a little expensive.
You can also stay in Taichung to stroll around the city. You can check our Taichung itinerary (DAY 3-4) for more info.
